They spraypainted their "tags" on buildings in Center Moriches and East Moriches, Suffolk police said.
Now four teens, one of them a 15-year-old juvenile, are under arrest, charged with making graffiti, police said.
The graffiti incidents occurred during the week of Jan. 18 and resulted in "extensive damage" to commercial and public property, police said.
Police did not detail what kind of graffiti the teens sprayed on those buildings other than to say they were "tags" -- or the identifying mark of a graffiti artist.
Arrested were Kyree Davenport, 18, of Brushwood Drive, Shirley; Jed Stout, 17, of Muellers Lane, Yaphank; Corey Hodapp, 17, of the Smith Point Motel in Shirley; and the 15-year-old, who was not identified because he is a juvenile.
Police did not say when the four were arrested.
Hodapp was arraigned Tuesday in First District Court in Central Islip. Details of his arraignment were not immediately available.
Police said Davenport and Stout will be arraigned at a later date. No information was available on the juvenile.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have asked anyone with information regarding the incidents to call detectives at 631-852-8760 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
