EMREC was founded in 1962 by Merv Lane to provide recreational activities for all the children of East Moriches. since that time, programs have provided young people with the opportunity to play baseball, softball, soccer, deck hockey, basketball and volleyball. EMREC is run solely by volunteers who try to place an emphasis on fun and cooperation over competition and winning. The goal of EMREC volunteers is to provide instruction in basic athletic skills and the rules of the game, while promoting individual motivation and cooperation in an atmosphere of friendly competition. It is our hope that sports will be an enjoyable experience for all involved.
