9. Appointments of Teaching and Support Staff

The District recently advertised for candidates to fill various teacher and support staff vacancies for 2008-2009. Candidates were interviewed by committees, building principals, and/or the superintendent.

10. Coaching Assignments

RECOMMENDED ACTION: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education appoints the following coaches for the 2008-2009 school year at the stipend contained in the current Center Moriches Teachers’ Association collective bargaining agreement:

FISCAL SECTION

11. Reservation Tutor & Assistant

RECOMMENDED ACTION: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education authorizes the hourly rate of pay for the Reservation Tutor to be $40 per hour and the hourly rate of pay for the Reservation Tutor Assistant to be $20 per hour and that the increases for both positions be retroactive to January 1, 2009.

12. Donation

RECOMMENDED ACTION: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education accepts the following donation:

 $3,000 from the Center Moriches PTA to be used for the BOCES Arts in Education programs;
 $250 from Wendy Turkington for the Parent-Child Home Program; and
 $20.29 from Ohiopyle Prints, Inc. to the Center Moriches School District.

13. Payment Authorization

The Board of Education has appointed an Independent Claims Auditor to review bills and authorize the processing of payment during the period between Board of Education meetings.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education accepts the report by the Independent Claims Auditor for the month of January 2009 and authorizes payment of the monthly bills listed on Warrants for the month of January 2009, as audited by the Independent Claims Auditor as follows:

14. Salary Moves

RECOMMENDED ACTION: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the following salary moves on the salary schedule, effective January 30, 2009:

RECOMMENDED ACTION: upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the budget transfers.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the following contracts in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contracts, as well as at the established cost contained in said contracts:

RECOMMENDED ACTION: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Education approves the recommendations of the Committees on Special Education and Preschool Special Education for the month of January 2009.

They must have had a quick meeting cause half the BOE members were at the girls playoff game. Unfortunantly the girls lost but they are still champions to CM!
