There will be a Public Hearing on teh Proposed Budget which will be up for vote on May 19th. It's important that everyone attends this meeting. Get all the facts before voting on a budget blindly. Tell your friends and neighbors to attend !!! The meeting will be held in the HS Auditorium at 7:30 pm on WEDNESDAY MAY 6th!!
The school auditor reported last December the reserve account was down to $900,000 which is below state guidelines. She mentioned the reserve money in other acoounts are earmarked for special projects.
If the tax assessed value of land decreases we would be forced to raise the tax rate in December or drain our reserve account.Does the 2009-2010 budget account for a decrease in tax revenue?

ONLY 13 people showed up at the meeting ! The apathy of our taxpayers is ridiculous.
If the district was in crisis, then the community will be out in droves to these types of meetings. So when the district goes into austerity and sports will be cut, that's when they will all show up and complain.
WE are getting the $485,000 refund from the busing issue from 2005 ( the year of 38%) HELLOOOO ! They are NOT holding the line at $325,000 or .95% The Truth is they are holding the line on spending at $810,000 dollars !
They are NOT representing the truth when they print things like "spending has only increased 1.65% in 5 years! The truth is we were hit with almost 4% last year and almost 4% this year ! HMMMMMMM almost 8% in two years.....
There is less than $900,000. Our district is running low on reserves. What happens if the state doesn't refund the MTA tax? What happens should the tax assessments decrease? NY State aid decrease? These are real concerns. NYS guidelines suggest $1,300,000 in reserve.
