Huge Loss for CM as Lino Bracco goes to Kings Park as of July 1st.  This man deserved better treatment than he got from BOE and the Supertendent

KINGS PARK BOARD OF EDUCATION ANNOUNCES HIRING OF NEW HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

KINGS PARK, NY- The Kings Park Board of Education unanimously voted to hire Mr. Lino Bracco as the Principal of the Kings Park High School. Bracco, currently the principal of Center Moriches High School in Center Moriches, will officially begin in the beginning of July.

"I am thrilled to introduce Mr. Lino Bracco to the Kings Park community and am confident he will serve our children and teachers well" said Dr. Susan Agruso, Superintendent of Schools. "Mr. Bracco brings with him a wealth of experience as a teacher and administrator, and I am confident that he will be a fine addition to our great school system"

Mr. Bracco has been the Principal of Center Moriches High School for the past seven years and was Principal of Miller Place High School for four years before joining Center Moriches. He began his teaching career at St. John’s Preparatory High School in Astoria and went on to teach Chemistry in the Sewanhaka Central High School District, where he taught for 6 years and served as department chair for two. He began his administrative career at Elmont Memorial High School as an assistant principal, a position he held for 7 years prior to moving out to Long Island. Mr. Bracco brings a total of 11 years of experience as a principal to Kings Park High School. In addition, he is a much valued Executive Board member of the Suffolk County Principals Association as the Zone 5 East end cluster leader for 15 school districts.

"I am honored to be joining such a great district and look forward to working with the teachers, administrators and most importantly the students to make Kings Park High School a model of excellence. As a member of the Kings Park community, I will be accessible to parents and community members. I hope to encourage parents to participate fully in their child’s education by keeping them informed of school events, curriculum implementation, and assessment requirements." said Mr. Bracco. "I would like to thank the Board of Education and Dr. Susan Agruso for putting their trust in me, and I look forward to working with them in the coming weeks as I begin my transition."

Mr. Neil Johnson, President of the Board of Education said, "On behalf of the Board of Education, I am excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Bracco. He brings experience and educational leadership that will be essential to the academic future and stability of the Kings Park High School. This search began with over 100 applications, and following a very thorough, inclusive process we were able to identify the best fit for our children and our community. We welcome Mr. Bracco to Kings Park and look forward to having him here for many years to come."

"We are so pleased to have Lino Bracco join our fine group of administrators in Kings Park and look forward to his working with us as we lead our district to 21st century learning," said Arlene Mullin, principal of Fort Salonga Elementary School and president of the Building Administrators’ Association.

Mr. Jim Pappas, President of the Kings Park Classroom Teachers Association said, "The Kings Park teachers are pleased with the process followed by the school district in choosing the new principal. We look forward to working with him in the future."

Mrs. Rebecca Sobotkin, President of the Kings Park Educational Unit of CSEA said, "On behalf of the CSEA membership, we look forward to working with Mr. Lino Bracco and welcome him to Kings Park. I would like to express my appreciation to the Board of Education for including us in the decision-making process."

"As incoming trustees, we thank the Board of Education and administration for inviting us into this process and making sure we were involved in screening and selecting a new principal for our High School. We believe that Mr. Bracco brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to our district and we both look forward to welcoming him to Kings Park," said Tom Locascio and Liz Barrett, both recently elected to the Board of Education.

Members of the selection committee included the current Board of Education, recently elected members of the Board of Education, district and school administrators, representatives from Kings Park Classroom Teachers Association, representatives from the Kings Park School District CSEA and members of the community.

Lino was warned that if he did not find a new position he would be placed in the "rubber room" at the administrative building. He could easily have fought the BOE and sat in a room earning $140,000, but instead decided to leave.

I don't understand why our district needs a deputy superintendent when we have done without one for many many years ?  Isn't this considered inflating the payroll budget ?

So not only do we have 2 athletic directors who don't know who is doing what but now we have another duplication of services and having 2 superintendents.  when will it stop !!
