The Vincent Nasta Run will help give scholarships in Art, Music and Aviation to Long Island’s young people and at the same time perpetuate the spirit of Mr. Nasta who was a wonderful teacher, mentor, musician, aviator, and champion of all the students he encountered.
Vin deserves to be remembered for his never ending striving and his sense of urgency in accomplishing his worth while goals. We want him to be remembered for all that he did and for making the world he lived in, from the perspective for all who knew him a special and magical place. The News-Review's Educator of the year award for 2008 was given posthumously to this Riverhead High School art teacher. Sadly Vincent Nasta died in a performance at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in upstate NY performing in an air show.
By creating 3 scholarships in Art, Music and Aviation it is the foundations hope to perpetuate education and the creative spirit. For Vin life was about adventure and learning as well as gratitude and giving back. It is with this spirit that we offer The Vincent Nasta Foundation Run.
